Anyone tried Iron mist with Lightning spells?
Mae govannen!
While wondering about what the skill Iron Mist could be good for I thought about an Ele using that to slow a foe 90% down and then spike him to death with neat Lightning spells. Anyone tried that out against endlevel mobs or other players? Any opinions?

It's alright, but very difficult to coordinate. It's best used as a snare, especially if you've been wearing a team down in Tombs, and they decide to book it, you iron mist the farthest behind target, and quickly run and circle them. When it wears off, spike them to death, either the rest of the team keeps running, and you get a kill, they all come back, and since you had them on the run in the first place, you keep beating on them, or they split up because they're a PUG, or aren't focused on organization, and you can engage, say, 3 or 4 of them, and essentially win.

Yeah I wouldn't suggest using it for a casual battle, as your other party members'll get pissed off that they can't do damage.

Yesh... but it especially annoys me when I spend my spells and have the monk down to 1/6 life. That's why I get the warrior to attack too. Or maybe i'll try using arcane echo.

I've had a team do that (we had one guy carry Iron Mist while everyone else was a Air Spiker). It really ended up just being a snare for fleeing targets, as someone already said. Not worth it.

main use for iron mist - being a pain in the ass for any map where someone needs to be somewhere - for example, Ghostly hero maps, Relic maps, GvG where flags are involved etc. On these maps, slowing them down is more important a lot of the time than immediate damage. If you can make someone take 10 times as long to capture your relic, you could have captured 10 times faster - it makes it a pointless exercise. Also, a ghostly hero running to the altar can be stopped in his tracks by iron mist - one person can easily body block someone who gets misted. and yeah - the lightning damage still works too, so if you can, make sure your warriors have the right grips/hilts etc.

Yeah man, I've been in a group who used iron mist during a relic match. If the enemy fail to remove hex, it's downright hilarious when you iron mist the runner and bodyblock him. Literally makes it impossible to avoid the block. Set yourself up around the runner for when iron mist runs out, and you've got a winner. I think we managed to hold him in place for the last 45 seconds of the match and won it.

I've seen it been used in the burial mounds PVP, it did it's job at a mediocre level, yet, I wouldn't say it's a great combo. Air spikes focus mainly on damage, I prefer knockdowns rather than snares in terms of a Air elementalist. It's fun to use, but you'll hardly see it shine in most occasions.
